At Pirie, we aim to be a part of organizations in our community that align with our mission and our values. We are proud to be a sponsor for the Northeast Summit for a Sustainable Built Environment (NESSBE) Equity of Place program that will discuss how the built environment can promote equity and social justice. Our gift will provide 10 students the opportunity to attend the summit, focusing on students of color in an effort to increase the diversity of the sustainable design professions.
The second biennial NESSBE will take place in New Haven, CT on March 8-9, 2019. A series of keynote speakers and experts will lead a discussion focusing on material health and social justice, climate justice and conservation, resilience, community engagement, and affordable housing — all topics that are important to Pirie's core mission.
